Yes, the Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door system standard assortment includes options designed to meet both new construction and remodeling needs. Some products are better suited for new construction projects (e.g., top-rollers for bi-fold), while others are better suited for remodeling projects. The rough opening specifications will determine if a custom order is needed or if the Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail standard and/or extended lead time assortment can be used. Solar Innovations, LLC recommends pivot entry doors be installed only on concrete or wood substrates to support the operational load of the door.

No, currently there are not any motorized options available for the Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door system standard or extended lead time assortment. However, Solar Innovations has motorized options available through the custom program. Please note that the custom program is covered by the Solar Innovations standard warranty. The Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail standard and extended lead time assortment includes options for argon-filled Lo-E 366 glass for increased energy efficiency. However, Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail products are not ENERGY STAR qualified.

The Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail extended lead time product assortment includes impact-rated door systems. Please check with your dealer on specific product approvals and always confirm building code requirements in your area before buying. Additional options to meet other product approvals may be available through the custom program. Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door systems come with detailed installation instructions. If you need additional help, please call 1-800-323-3533, ext. 2565. Each door system comes in a crate with all the pieces and parts you need to assemble and install. You will need to supply your own tools, safety equipment and silicone.

Depending on size of unit, typically 2–4 people are required.

Due to their method of operation, pivot entry doors have multiple pinch points that can cause injury during operation. Do not place hands or other body parts between the operable door panel and frame or adjacent structures.

“In-field glazing” refers to the installation of glass for sidelites and transoms at the job site. The glass will be glazed on the job site during unit installation using glass stops.

No, simulated divided lite (SDL) bars come pre-installed on Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door systems. SDL bars will need to be placed on sidelites and transoms, as specified by the project.

Yes, Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door systems are backed by a 1x transferable limited lifetime warranty. This warranty can be transferred one time to a new owner, should you ever sell your home. Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door systems are also backed by a 10-year limited finish warranty. The balance of this finish warranty can transfer to a second owner. Please note that if the product is a custom order, it will not be covered under the Therma-Tru narrow stile and rail door system warranty.

Each custom order is warranted for a minimum of one year from the date of delivery. Dependent on items specified, such as finishes, warranties may be extended well beyond one year. May of the components, such as hardware and glass, may be warranted by the original manufacturer for a greater length of time. Warranties are issued individually, based on the scope of the project. It is imperative that the customer reads and fully understand the warranty for their product type.

Whether a top- or bottom-hung unit, it’s important to keep the track clear of debris so that the rollers work properly. For bottom-hung units, this can be more of a challenge as dirt, sand, leaves and other debris may get into that bottom track when the doors are open. If you live in an area in which you’re concerned about bottom track maintenance, then we recommend a top-hung unit. However, top-hung units require additional structural features. Folding door systems and sliding door systems are built with recessed flush sills which have little resistance to water penetration and have the potential to leak if installed exposed to weather. We recommend these systems be installed away from weather and under large soffits or overhangs.
