Whether a top- or bottom-hung unit, it’s important to keep the track clear of debris so that the rollers work properly. For bottom-hung units, this can be more of a challenge as dirt, sand, leaves and other debris may get into that bottom track when the doors are open. If you live in an area in which you’re concerned about bottom track maintenance, then we recommend a top-hung unit. However, top-hung units require additional structural features.
